About Mid City Home Restoration | Western NY’s process-driven contractor

About Mid City Home Restoration

Owner-operated. Process-driven. Built to solve the contractor reliability problem in Western New York.

Why this company exists

Mid City Home Restoration was founded because the contractor experience in Western New York was broken. Homeowners were getting ghosted mid-project. Verbal quotes turned into surprise invoices. Timelines meant nothing. And quality checks only happened when the homeowner caught something wrong.

We built MHR to work differently. Every project follows a documented process. Every scope is written down before work starts. Every stage gets photo-verified. And every project closes with a formal quality gate, not a disappearing act.

This is not a company built on volume. It is built on doing the work the right way, documenting it, and standing behind it. Mid City Home Restoration operates as a division of URD Management Inc., based in Lockport, NY.

The team

MHR runs lean on purpose. A small, accountable team means every person on your project knows the scope, knows the standard, and knows who is responsible for what.

John Smith

Owner / Operator

Runs the business, manages every project scope, and handles client communication. If something goes sideways, John is the one who fixes it.

Photo

Gary

25% Owner / Field operations lead

Leads field operations and manages day-to-day execution on job sites. Gary makes sure the work matches the written scope and stays on timeline.

Jack

Painting and flooring specialist

Handles painting and flooring installations across MHR projects. Jack’s finish work is what clients see last, and it has to be right.

MHR also works with transitional field labor for project-specific needs, and coordinates licensed NY subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, HVAC) for any work requiring those licenses. All licensed subcontractors must provide proof of active NY licensing and insurance prior to work commencement.

The 14-stage project lifecycle

Every Mid City Home Restoration project follows the same documented lifecycle from first contact to final sign-off. This is not a suggestion or a guideline. It is the process, and it runs on every job regardless of size.

The Signature Finish Protocol

The Signature Finish Protocol is the final quality gate in every MHR project. It happens after all work is complete and before the project officially closes.

Here is what it includes:

A detailed walkthrough of all completed work with the client

Photo documentation of every finished area

Punch list review and resolution of any remaining items

Client sign-off confirming the project meets the written scope

No project closes without passing this stage. It is our way of making sure nothing gets missed and you are satisfied with the result before we leave the job site.

What we stand on

Documentation over memory

Written scopes, photo-verified stages, and formal sign-offs. If it is not documented, it did not happen. This protects both sides and keeps every project accountable.

Transparency over salesmanship

You get the real scope, the real timeline, and the real cost. We do not lowball to win jobs and then hit you with change orders. What we quote is what you pay.

Licensed trade compliance

Any work requiring a licensed electrician, plumber, or HVAC professional is performed by verified NY-licensed subcontractors. All licensed subcontractors must provide proof of active NY licensing and insurance prior to work commencement. No shortcuts on compliance.
